 Historic Wahconah Park is one of the oldest still active ballparks in the US, opening in 1919. It has one of the few remaining covered wooden grandstands. |
 In its long history, team names have included the Electrics, Hillies, Indians, Phillies, Red Sox, Senators, Rangers, Brewers, Cubs, Mets, Astros, Black Bears, Dukes, American Defenders, Colonials, and Suns. |
 Over 200 Pittsfield players went on to play in the major leagues (Sparky Lyle, Carlton Fisk, Greg Maddux, Rafael Palmeiro); and over 100 played in Pittsfield after having already played in the majors. |
 The Colonials were only there two years (2010-2011), having started in 1998 as the Nashua Pride and then the American Defenders of New Hampshire. The current team at the park is a Futures league (collegiate summer wood bat) team called the Pittsfield Suns. |
